Hunt for knife attackers who stabbed horses

The RSPCA is appealing for information after two cob-type horses were stabbed in a field in South Kirkby, Pontefract.

RSPCA inspector Joanne Taylor said: “This was a despicable act of violence against two horses.

“There was blood all down the chest and legs of the stallion. He had been stabbed in the face and in the rear hind area.

“The mare had also been stabbed in the face and had a slash across her rear hind area.”

Both have been checked over by a vet and given antibiotics. They’re expected to make a full recovery.

The incident happened in a field on Onward Way on Monday, May 16.
