Hunt for raiders who left man with fractured skull

MASKED raiders burst into a South Yorkshire home and made off with a quantity of cash, in what police are referring to as a "targeted" attack.

Detectives issued an appeal for information yesterday after the armed robbery in Woodseats, Sheffield, which left the occupier of the house with a fractured skull.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: "Three men wearing face coverings entered an address on Tadcaster Crescent.

"One of the intruders assaulted the occupier, a 43-year-old man, who sustained a fractured skull and bruising as a result of the incident.

"Detectives investigating the incident believe this to be targeted attack. All three men left the premises with an amount on money.

"Anyone who has any information about this incident, or thinks they saw anything relevant to this incident should contact South Yorkshire Police on 0114 2202020.

The armed robbery took place between 11pm and 11.30pm on Monday, December 6. It is not known how much money was taken.
