Hunt on for stolen food van
A CITY-WIDE hunt to find a stolen hot food van was being run through social networking side Twitter last night, after the much-loved stall was snatched from outside Sheffield University.
The drinks and hot food trailer, affectionately known as John’s Van, was apparently driven away by a white Ford Transit van at around 6.30am yesterday.
Almost immediately, the quest to find the vehicle – which has been serving food to Sheffield students for some 30 years – was launched.
A reward of £1,000 also has been offered for information.
One supporter tweeted: “Thoughts this morning are with @johnsvan. Whatever happens he’ll be back bigger and better than ever, I’m sure.
“Best bacon butty in Sheffield.”
