Hunt for sword after two injured in Samurai attack as New Year strikes

POLICE in North Yorkshire have issued an appeal to find a two-foot long Samurai sword used to seriously injure two men just minutes into the new year.

Officers were called to Inman Walk, Knaresborough, where they found a 31-year-old with severe lacerations to an arm.

A 21-year-old man also sustained a serious cut to the face.

Officers arrested another 31-year-old local man at the scene at around 12.30am.

Police appealed for information about the Samurai sword, which has not been found yet.

A police spokesman said: "While the injuries are not life threatening, they will nevertheless require a significant amount of surgery to treat their wounds."

A number of cars were also damaged in the incident.
