Hunt for woman who spoke to murder victim

DETECTIVES investigating a murder in Doncaster are trying to trace a woman who is believed to have spoken to the victim, John Lockwood, as he lay in the street on Wellington Grove in Bentley.

The 45-year-old was found injured on Lauder Road on the morning of Monday, May 31. At about 7am the emergency services attended and he was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary but died later that morning.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: "The unknown woman is believed to have spoken to John Lockwood between 2am and 2.30am on May 31, enquiring about his welfare. This potential witness, or anyone who may know who she is, is asked to call 01302 385792."
