I’m still in fear of man who buried me alive

A mother who clawed her way out of a cardboard box in which she was buried alive by her partner, has described still suffering nightmares that he will return to kill her.

Marcin Kasprazak was found guilty by an 11-1 majority of a jury at Leeds Crown Court yesterday of attempting to murder Michelina Lewandowska, 27, after they heard how he attacked her with a Taser and then bound and gagged her before putting her in the box.

She was then driven to woodland near their home in Huddersfield where the box was buried.

Miss Lewandowska, who used her engagement ring to cut herself free, said in a statement after the verdict she feared her life would end in her cardboard coffin.

“I prayed to God to help me survive so that I could look after my young son. The thought of my son gave me the strength to fight my way out of the box and save myself.”

She said: “For many years I loved Marcin Kasprazak very much. But after his horrific attack upon me my feelings towards him have turned to hatred.”

“I still have nightmares that Marcin will come back to find me and kill me. My only hope is that he can accept that what he did to me was very wrong. I really hope that no-one will ever experience what I went thought on that day in May at the hands of a man whom I loved and trusted.”
