Inflatable maze, music and comedy planned for city’s Freedom Festival

A massive inflatable maze aims to draw the crowds at Hull’s annual Freedom Festival.

People will be able to explore a 55m long installation going up in Queens Gardens called Mirazozo, which has already made appearances at Sydney Opera House, Segovia in Spain and Prague.

Children will be in for a treat as their parents will be called on to power one of the other extraordinary acts.

The British premiere of The Cow-Go-Round and its Mooh Organ, by Theatre de la Toupine, starts in Queens Gardens on Friday September 2.

The size of a small fairground ride, it features cows on a carousel, which children can ride, and street theatre. Parents have to operate the ride by “milking the cow”.

More performers are due to be announced for the music and dance stages on Humber Street later this month.

The City Hall will host three nights of comedy, cabaret and music acts – featuring comedian Arthur Smith and singer Camille O’Sullivan. Queens Gardens will also host open air cinema, children’s theatre, en-masse ballroom dancing, and classic movie sing-a-longs.
