Injured ex-serviceman reunited with medal after robbery in Bramley

An ex-serviceman who lost a leg serving in Afghanistan has been reunited with one of his medals after it was stolen in a burglary in the Bramley area of Leeds.

Police reported that Jake Bartlett, who was injured whilst on duty in 2009, had the service medal snatched when two people broke into his home.

Sergeant Chris Brumfitt said: “The medal has been located! Jake is extremely grateful and thanks everyone for their concern and support following the burglary at his home.”

Mr Bartlett’s mobility vehicle, a Mercedes A200 in grey, registration mark R19 FLS, and a veteran’s pin badge was also stolen and Sgt Brumfitt added: “Enquiries into the offence are continuing. Please call 101 and quote log 116 (March 31), not log 113 as previously reported.”
