Injured man flees scene of shooting

SHOTS were fired at the scene of an incident in Bradford in which a man was knocked down by a car.

Police were called to Huddersfield Road at Low Moor just before midnight on Wednesday after reports of a road traffic accident.

Both the car and the injured pedestrian had left the scene by the time officers arrived.

Witnesses told police that shots had been fired.

Police later recovered an Audi A3 car in Wibsey, Bradford, and arrested a 19-year-old local man.

A police spokeswoman said efforts were being made to trace the man who was injured.

Officers believe he suffered a leg injury.

Huddersfield Road was closed as police carried out their investigation.

The incident happened near the junction with Netherlands Avenue.
