Mrs Reed ran the Richmond-based Swaledale Cheese Company for 25 years after starting it with her husband David in 1987. Mr Reed died in 2005 aged 46.

Speaking after her death, former Richmondshire councillor Martin Bearpack said it was a terrible tragedy, especially as her husband also died so young.

He said: “I knew them both for a number of years and they were great entrepreneurs.

“It’s such sad loss. She will be very much missed.

“The company was such a good thing for this area and she was a very well-known figure.”

The inquest will be held at Richmond Town Hall.
