Inspectors praise children's home

A CHILDREN'S home at Doncaster School for the Deaf has been graded "good" in its latest Ofsted inspection.

Inspectors said that staff at the Dickson House residential unit mainainted "strong, positive relationships with young people" and gave them "excellent individual support."

A registered children's home, Dickson House accommodates five children on the same campus as the school, Doncaster College for the Deaf and the Little Learners Day Nursery.

Bobbie Roberts, chairman of the trustees at Doncaster School for the Deaf, said: "We are all extremely pleased by our Dickson house Ofsted report which has demonstrated that our dedicated team of experienced professionals at the home are supporting youngsters effectively and are helping them reach their full potential."

The highlighted the range of leisure and recreational opportunities available at the house.
