Internet 'blast threat' denial

A 26-year-old man alleged to have posted a message on the internet site Twitter threatening to blow an airport "sky high" is to face trial.

Paul Chambers denied “tweeting” the message about Robin Hood Airport, in Doncaster, on January 6.

Chambers, of Byram Court, Balby, Doncaster, was arrested after the post on the social networking site was picked up by routine investigations. He pleaded guilty at a previous hearing but yesterday changed his plea to not guilty to a single charge of sending, by means of a public electronic communications network, a message that was grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character.

He will be tried at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court later this month.
