Invitation to the ballet

Royal Ballet principal dancers Tamara Rojo and Sergei Polunin launch the opening of a new exhibition at The Lowry in Manchester celebrating the history of The Royal Ballet.

Drawn almost exclusively from the collections of the Royal Opera House, Invitation to the Ballet pays tribute to one of the towering figures of 20th century ballet, Dame Ninette de Valois. Costumes worn by some of the greatest names in ballet, from Darcey Bussell to Margot Fonteyn, are also featured.
