Irish dancers set for Disneyland performance

A TEAM of young Irish dancers from Leeds have passed strict auditions to perform at Disneyland Paris.

At one stage it looked like the dancers from the Tierney School of Irish Dance, in Morley, Leeds, which has raised £11,000 for the trip, may not be able to go after they got a call to say that a dance festival they were attending had not received the interest organisers were hoping for and the trip was called off.

However they were told there was a possibility that they may still be able to perform at Disneyland in Paris but they had to undergo an audition.

They had to submit a video of the girls’ routine but the Irish dancers have now been selected to perform at the Videopolis Theatre at the theme park on Saturday for a 30 minute show – in a venue that is usually reserved for the professionals. picture: Gary Longbottom
