Ironman champion adds weight to Jane’s appeal

THE current Ironman world champion, Chrissie Wellington, is coming to Leeds to host the UK’s first “Run with Chrissie”.

The athlete will take part in a 5K training run before sharing her tips and advice with all proceeds from the event on December 21 going to the Jane Tomlinson Appeal.

“It was a huge honour to be asked to become a patron of the appeal last year. #

“Jane has always been a huge inspiration to me and I have a lot of admiration for her.

“ To be able to host an event like this and share my passion with people, while also fundraise for the appeal, is a privilege,” she said.

Runners, fundraisers and triathletes will be able to join Ms Wellington for a programme of activities, which will be held at Leeds Metropolitan University.

Starting with a 5K run, participants will then take part in group training sessions followed by a buffet and an evening question- and-answer session where they can quiz the athlete.
