IT WOULD seem to be a case of ‘bone appetit’.

Staff at a dog-friendly coffee shop in Yorkshire took their love for canine diners to another level when they staged a ‘tea party’ for pets.

Willow Boyle, who owns Blondes cafe in Cottingham in East Yorkshire, hired out a car park at the rear and decked it out with bunting and balloons.

The fundraising event included specially-made treats for dogs including those who prefer gluten-free and diary-free goodies.

The cafe is involved in supporting dog rescue centres in Romania after Ms Boyle became aware of the horrendous treatment that pets can suffer in the East European nation.

She said: “We collect blankets and food for dogs and send them across to Romania.

“We have also worked with a rescue centre over there to bring some of the dogs over here and get them re-homed in Britain.”

She added: “It was great because some of those dogs we had brought over here came to the party and we got to see how they had been getting on in their new home.”

The event raised a total of £600.
