It's in the knit... young Beckham inherits father's fashion sense

BROOKLYN Beckham looked to have inherited his father's taste in clothes as he appeared on centre court at Wimbledon yesterday sporting a similar cardigan to an outfit worn by his fashion-conscious parent.

There was also a familiar pattern of events for Beckham senior as he watched British sporting hopes dashed for the second time in five days.

After his return from England's disastrous World Cup campaign in South Africa, he was on hand to support the Scottish tennis star.

Often holding his chin in his hand, Beckham's poses as he sat alongside his eldest son Brooklyn, 11, were strikingly similar to those in South Africa.

The outcome was also sadly familiar as the Scot slipped to defeat.

Beckham earlier this week sent Murray, who lists the footballer as the most famous person he has met, a good luck message.

Screaming girls gathered below as the footballer crossed a footbridge to walk across to Centre Court to take his seat near Murray's mother Judy and girlfriend Kim Sears.

Television personalities Sir Michael Parkinson, Sir David Frost and singer Katherine Jenkins were among those invited to the Royal Box, while actor Orlando Bloom and Sir Cliff Richard were also spotted at the All England Club.

There were chaotic scenes to grab the chance to see Murray play his semi final as fans – who had camped through the night – sprinted to the ticket resales office in the hope of getting the chance to watch the match.

All Centre Court tickets were sold in advance yet queuers still waited through the night in the hope of any spectators leaving early.
