A PAEDOPHILE already serving a sentence for targeting a nine-year-old girl has been given another jail term after indecent images of children, some only babies, were found on his computer.
Leeds Crown Court heard yesterday Keith Walsh’s laptop and computer tower were seized from his home in Conway Crescent, Batley Carr, after his arrest in September last year following the incident with the schoolgirl but analysis of the machines had not been completed when he was sentenced in January this year.
He was given an indeterminate jail sentence for public protection with a minimum of 17 months after he admitted two charges of inciting the schoolgirl to engage in sexual activity.
He already had convictions for sex offences and was jailed for eight years and six months in 1997 for indecent assaults and raping a girl aged 14.
At that time he was described as a danger to young girls by the judge.
The court heard he approached the nine-year old after watching her buy sweets at a Post office and offered her cash for sexual contact but she rejected him saying: “Are you wrong in the head or something” before cycling off as he tried to grab her.
Walsh, 55, was jailed yesterday for 10 months having admitted 17 charges of making indecent images or videos.
He was warned that because of his current sentence it will still be up to the Parole Board when he is released.
Giles Bridge, prosecuting, said nothing was found on Walsh’s laptop but 730 indecent images of children were discovered on the computer tower.
The images included 215 at level three and 95 at level four, on a scale of one to five, where five is the most serious.
The internet history showed Walsh had downloaded them from file sharing websites.
In addition 243 indecent videos had been found graded at level one or two.
