Jamie takes on the most important meal of the day

Farmers from the region will join forces with staff at Jamie Oliver's Rotherham-based Ministry of Food this weekend to promote regional produce as part of Farmhouse Breakfast Week.

The event will take place on Saturday, and throughout the day a range of healthy breakfast dishes will be made using local ingredients. Breakfast at the Ministry has been organised by the National Farmers' Union, and regional director Richard Ellison said it aimed to build on the success of a similar day which took place last year. He added: "We hope that children and adults alike will enjoy sampling some great food and meeting the farmers that produce it." According to the NFU, the event will teach visitors how food gets from farm to fork and show how even everyday breakfast foods like porridge have links to Yorkshire farms.
