Jimmy Savile in hospital with pneumonia

VETERAN television presenter Sir Jimmy Savile is “feeling fine” after he was admitted to hospital in his home city of Leeds.

The star, who presented the first episode of Top Of The Pops as well as his long-running show Jim’ll Fix It, is in the city’s General Infirmary.

A spokeswoman for the hospital said: “He is feeling fine and he is going along very well.”

The 84-year-old is reported to be recovering from a bout of pneumonia after being admitted on Saturday.

Sir Jimmy started his working life as a miner in his native Yorkshire before running a series of clubs and working as a wrestler and DJ.

He has raised millions for charity and for many years was a regular marathon runner in support of good causes.
