Jogger suffers head injuries in crash

A JOGGER is in stable condition in hospital after being hit by a car while crossing a road in Hull.

The 43-year-old is being treated at Hull Royal Infirmary for serious head injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

The man was on the pedestrian crossing close the Premier Inn, on Raich Carter Way, in Kingswood, when he was hit by a grey Renault Megane at around 5.24pm on Wednesday. The female driver of the Renault was uninjured.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who was in the area at the time.

Officers are also trying to trace witnesses to an incident at around 5.50pm on Wednesday, when a window was smashed at a house in Grimsby. The householder gave chase, cutting his leg as he did so, and followed the suspect, who was in dark clothing, along Guildford Street and onto Oxford Street.

Police are appealing for a cyclist who may have witnessed the chase to come forward.
