Jubilee celebrations continue in city

Despite the rainy weather over the extended Bank Holiday weekend, communities across the district got together to celebrate this historic occasion with street parties, galas, parades, concerts, tea dances and other events.

The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Coun Dale Smith, said: “It was wonderful to see so many people coming together and taking pride in their communities. The Diamond Jubilee reminds us of just how important it is to work us to get to know our neighbours better and share our experiences.”

More events planned throughout the year include a Diamond Jubilee tea dance to be held at the Victoria Hall, Keighley, on Wednesday, a cinema and bistro style evening, including a screening of The King’s Speech, organised by Bradford City of Film on Thursday, and on Saturday, June 30 there will be a Jubilee Armed Forces Day in City Park and Centenary Square, Bradford, between 11am-2pm.
