Judges say case against Kercher killers was sound

American Amanda Knox and her boyfriend were fairly convicted of murdering Leeds University student Meredith Kercher, the judges in their trial announced yesterday.

In a 400-page written report giving their reasons for the guilty verdicts, they said the case against Knox and Italian Raffaele Sollecito was sound.

Both were convicted of murdering Miss Kercher, from Coulsdon, south London, after she refused to join in a sex game at her apartment in the Italian town of Perugia.

The judges said they acted without any planning or resentment against their victim.
