Jurassic Park theme for annual giant York Maze

FARMER Tom Pearcy has created what is believed to be the world's biggest dinosaur image for this year's York Maze.

Mr Pearcy, who has created a giant maze at his farm near York every year since 2002, has gone for a dinosaur theme this year to mark the 25th anniversary of Jurassic Park.

York Maze, which is created from 15 acres of maize plants, is believed to be the largest maze in Europe and one of the largest in the world.

The Tyrannosaurus rex is estimated to be 50 times the size of the real thing with the T-Rex head alone the size of a football pitch.

Last year’s maze theme was Star Wars and in 2016 it was Roald Dahl characters.

Mr Pearcy, said: “Everyone loves a dinosaur. I remember the excitement when the first Jurassic Park movie came out 25 years ago. Children are captivated by these incredible creatures and as adults we are still enthralled by them.”
