MEDIA guru Greg Dyke is among the keynote speakers featuring at York Business Week.
Mr Dyke, Chancellor of the University of York, and Barry Dodd, chairman of the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership, will speak as part of an event organised by Higher York, entitled Creating Opportunities. It takes place on Monday at York St John University, and will look at ways to advance your business, with more resources, more expertise and more customers.
York Business Week, which takes place from November 14 until November 18, aims “to showcase the world-class businesses that flourish in York, the wealth and breadth of support and advice for businesses, and inspire a new generation of enterprise”.
Other highlights include the Leeds, York & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce’s Business Growth Expo on Wednesday at York Racecourse. This event is aimed at owner or managers of SMEs and will provide a mix of masterclasses with an exhibition area based on three themes: financing your ambitions, accessing expert advice and developing your competitive edge. Alice Amsden, a founder and director of Wensleydale Creamery and East Shaw Farm, will be the keynote speaker.
The Institute of Directors (IoD) Yorkshire Dinner will welcome Graeme Leach, chief economist and director of policy at the IoD, as its speaker on Tuesday evening. The Lord Mayor of York, Coun David Horton, will also attend.
