Last year paranoid schizophrenic Ikechukwu Tennyson Obih was jailed for life for the murder of a police officer.

He stabbed Bedfordshire Pc Jon Henry twice in the chest as he tried to arrest him in Luton town centre on June 11 2007.

Obih admitted killing him on the ground of diminished responsibility.

In 2008 paranoid schizophrenic Benjamin Frankum was found guilty of murdering a father of three who was stabbed more than 80 times in a random attack in front of his children.

He had been sectioned before but was living in supported accommodation when he killed. He was detained indeterminately under a hospital order.
