Knife robbery in broad daylight

A MAN was robbed at knifepoint in broad daylight in a Yorkshire town.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the attack in Cleckheaton on Christmas Eve when a 23-year old man was robbed at 9.55am.

The man was walking along the Greenway from Cleckheaton towards Oakenshaw when he was grabbed by a man who was shouting in a foreign accent. A second suspect then appeared and threatened the victim with a knife, before taking his telephone and cash and cigarettes from his jacket.

The victim was left shaken but otherwise unharmed.

He described the robbers as two white men in their thirties.

They were each around six feet tall.
