Off to knight school?

Wakefield Council and Cineworld have joined together for national Walk to School week, which runs until Friday, to see movies come alive.

Yesterday Newton Hill Community School, above, was greeted by the knights of the round table, including armour-plated David Cooper, of Histrionics, and throughout the event schools are adopting other film themes to encourage more youngsters to walk to school.

Council leader Coun Peter Box said: “When children are driven to school, they miss out on the opportunity to socialise with friends and burn off some energy before starting the school day.”
