Labour picks candidate to fight seat

Labour has selected its candidate to contest the Brigg and Goole seat at the next General Election.

Jacky Crawford, from Goole, will stand against Andrew Percy in 2015.

Ms Crawford followed in her mother’s footsteps qualifying
and working as a nurse, before
retraining to become a social worker when her children were young.

She has worked across all children service sectors as a social worker and manager, in particular across two government task forces.

She is married to Martin, a paramedic, and they have two grown up children.

Speaking after winning selection at a hustings of local party members in the constituency, she said: “I’m proud and humbled to have been selected as Labour’s candidate for my home constituency – it’s a real honour.”
