Land Rover overturns in hit-and-run

A POLICE investigation has been launched after a hit-and-run crash led to a Land Rover overturning on a country lane.

The collision happened while the Land Rover Defender, which was towing a trailer laden with empty poultry crates, was being driven along the B1257 towards Malton when it was overtaken by a silver-coloured Ford near Stonegrave.

As the Ford completed the manoeuvre it hit the front of the Land Rover, causing it to swerve and overturn. The driver of the Ford, which had a 58 registration plate, did not stop at the scene.

The driver of the Land Rover, a 65-year-old man from Beverley, was unhurt in the collision, which happened at 5pm on Wednesday.
