Late dictator's son declared president
Togo's election commission declared the son of the country's late dictator winner of the presidential race.
Faure Gnassingbe’s triumph extended the family’s rule into a fifth decade, but the opposition vowed to protest.
Provisional results indicated Gnassingbe won 60.9 per cent of the roughly two million votes cast in the tiny country, said the commission.
