A MAN has been shot and injured in Leeds in one of two shootings in a day.

The shooting happened in the Pasture Road and Shepherds Lane area of Harehills shortly before 6pm on Monday.

The man sustained injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

It followed an earlier shooting at 3.40pm in Devon Close, Woodhouse, which caused damage to a house.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Investigations are at early stage and are continuing to establish the circumstances behind these incidents.

"Anyone who may have any information on either incident is asked to contact the police on 101, or use the live chat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.

"Information can also be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."

Officers could be seen scouring Devon Road in Woodhouse on Monday evening.

They could be seen walking slowly in an apparent attempt to spot something on the ground.

Locals reported that cordons were in place between the junction with Winfield Place and Leicester Place.

A separate police cordon was set up in Pasture Road, Harehills, it is understood.
