Leeds: Hit and run driver leaves pedestrian badly injured

A HIT-AND-RUN driver fled after mounting a path and hitting a pedestrian in Leeds, leaving him with serious injuries.

The 20-year-old was walking alongside Osmondthorpe Lane in east Leeds at about 2.50am today (Sept 21) when a small red car, thought to be a Nissan Micra, careered into him.

The car drove off towards the A64. The victim was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with a serious head injury, which is not thought to be life threatening.

Osmondthorpe Lane was closed for about two hours while the scene was examined by forensic experts.
