Comedy stage hypnotist Krystyna Lennon, of Guiseley, said anyone who is not entirely convinced her dog Princess has got the power to hypnotise should experience it for themselves.

Viewers saw five-year-old German spitz Princess cast her spell over audience members and hosts Ant and Dec on Saturday night’s ITV show.

Judge Simon Cowell got on stage and stared into Princess’s eyes, but seemed to have resisted her charms.

He told viewers: “It’s just a normal dog, it’s just a dog with a huge tongue staring at me.”

But later on the show he was uncharacteristically cheerful and appeared to fall asleep at his desk.

Mum-of-three Krystyna, 40, who is originally from Pudsey, said: “When he (Simon) sat down and relaxed, that’s when it took him by surprise. I was brought back out to wake him up so I spoke to him then. He was a bit confused. He didn’t know how long he’d been out.

“The other judges were teasing him. I think it was Alesha Dixon who said ‘Simon, you have been asleep for ten years.’”

Commenting on the sceptics, Krystyna said: “Hypnotism doesn’t really present well on TV. All I would say is we are doing a tour, come to a show and get up on stage and experience it for yourself. Come and take Hypnodog on.”

Krystyna added: “It was nice to meet Ant and Dec and everybody. It was a really fun day, though a little bit surreal. I had to go backstage and remove all of the suggestion. Ant and Dec thought it was hilarious.”

Krystyna said Princess is a natural at hypnotism, adding: “It’s not something I’ve really trained her to do. It’s an ability she has already got. She is a really calm dog and she has just got a really dominant stare.”

Simon Cowell has said he did not fake being hypnotised. He said: “No. 100 per cent real.”
