Mattel claimed that rival Zynga’s online game Scramble With Friends infringed its trade mark rights to the word “Scrabble”.
Mr Justice Peter Smith, who ruled after a hearing in London, concluded that the key was Zynga’s use of an “m on its side”.

Hide AdThe judge said the word “Scramble” did not infringe Scrabble trademarks.
But he added: “Zynga’s present logo with the m on its side gives the impression that the word is Scrabble when one looks at it quickly and has the propensity to confuse.”
