Legend Bremner gets a ginger-up

The white football strip was looking a bit faded and the shock of ginger hair had lost its shine but now the Billy Bremner statue is as good as new.

Leeds-born sculptor Frances Segelman, who unveiled the bronze work in 1999, spent yesterday recolouring the faded statue, which stands outside the Elland Road ground.

She said: "It was coloured when we did it and really lovely and full of life. I was coming to Leeds to visit my mum and family and as I went by it was looking very dull and lifeless so decided it has to be brought to life again."
