Let's go fly a kite...

Three-year-old Isabelle Wright, from Otley, gets ready to let her butterfly kite soar yesterday at the Harewood Kite Festival.

The skies above the stately home near Leeds were awash with fabulous colours and shapes this weekend as visitors able to marvel at some of the world's largest collections of kites.

Renowned kite teams from across the country show their kite displays at Harewood including the Skyartists Kite Display Team, renowned for their artwork in the sky. The Wigsley Wings Kite Display Team were also at the event. They hold one of the largest collections of monster kites, as were the Kite Collective, who entertained guests with their kite show.

Team4mation, a quad trick stunt kite team who perform sequence displays to music also entertained visitors.

For the younger guests there were parachuting teddy bears, with youngsters invited to bring along their favourite bear to try out the event.
