A Levels 2017: Northallerton twins celebrate double success

Students at the school have ensured they have secured places at the most prestigious universities by achieving top grades in their A Levels.

Josh Form, 18, from Brompton, has achieved four A*s and will be studying physics at Oxford University.

Twins India and Mia Richmond, 18, from East Cowton, earned places at Edinburgh and St Andrews universities.

And fellow twins Katie and Emily Platt, 18, from Romanby, secured places to study dentistry and medicine respectively.

Matthew Place also achieved straight As and A*s to earn a place at Warwick University to study physics.

Rebecca Johnson, 18, from Northallerton, will study history at York following her impressive performance. She got an A*, A and B.

The success of students in academic courses was also reflected in the vocational offer with Rhys McClew achieving three distinction stars and he will enter employment, as will Sian Bull who achieved an A* in her childcare course.

Principal Chris Byrne said: “We are very proud of what our students have achieved and delighted that they have been equipped to move on to the next exciting phase of their education.”

Josh said he had hated waiting for the results but was delighted he had go the grades he needed.

He added: “I have worked hard – all I've done is work and sleep.

“I'm just glad it's all over.”

Mia admitted she and her sister India had been competitive when they were younger and when they were taking their GCSEs.

But she added: “Now we just want each other to do well.”
