light relief ascyclist is rescued

A woman who was knocked unconscious when she fell from her bicycle was rescued after a driver spotted her red rear light flashing in a pile of snow.

Sarah Archdale, 25, above, of Tang Hall Lane in York, works as a care assistant for elderly people and set off for work at 6.30am.

She had only got a mile from her home on Tuesday when she came off her bike in a pile of snow and hit her head. She was unconscious for up to 20 minutes.

Fortunately, the light was seen by motorist Colin Dodds, 61. “When I found her, she wasn’t breathing,” he said. Mrs Archdale said: “I feel very lucky my flashing light was still on.”
