Little pigs proving a big hit with visitors to petting farm

WHEN they were born nearly two weeks ago they weighed nine ounces each.

Now, just under a fortnight later, the cute micro pigs at St Leonard’s Farm at Esholt, near Bradford, are each still only about seven inches long.

The litter of six micro pigs is proving a hit with visitors and getting on well with other animals and birds at the farm.

Farmer James Wainhouse said: “They are living in a sheep barn with a heat lamp they can go under if they get a bit cold.

“There’s sheep in there, of course, and chickens and goats too, and so far its happy families,” he added.

The litter, who have still to be given names, were born to Bonnie and Clyde, a pair of micro pigs who arrived at St Leonard’s last October.

It is expected that the tiny piggies will grow to around 2ft long and they should grow to no more than 40 to 45cm (about 18in) tall.
