Live at Leeds announces special outdoor stage

Since being set up a decade ago Live at Leeds has lived up to the classic The Who record it was named after and become one of the country's best regarded music festivals.

And to celebrate ten glorious, multi-award-winning years the festival’s organisers have announced a special, free to all music stage and food area for the festival on Leeds’ most prominent street.

Briggate is one of the oldest streets in Leeds and will welcome Live at Leeds’ first outdoor stage in celebration of their tenth Birthday. Bands to grace the stage will include local favourites Glass Caves mixing it up with music from Fletcher Jackson, Katie Dean, Party Hardly, Where Fires Are and Colour of Spring.

As well as the music, there is chance to enjoy a food area brought to you by Leeds Indie Food, cementing the area has a must visit for a fuel stop and to check out the latest bands.

We Are Scientists are live in Nottingham next month

The area is being run in partnership with Leeds BID (Business Improvement District) and Leeds City Council who are backing the stage in support of Leeds’ biggest multi-site festival which takes place on April 30.

Colin Oliver, Futuresound Events and Live at Leeds Managing Director said: “We’re really excited about adding this additional stage to Live at Leeds 2016.”

Councillor Judith Blake, leader of Leeds City Council, said: “It’s great to see Live at Leeds back for another year giving music lovers the chance to experience some fantastic live acts and also giving some of the city’s outstanding musical talent an exciting opportunity to shine.

The line-up this year features 2015’s biggest pop sensation, Brit Award-nominee Jess Glynne, fast rising Liverpool four piece Circa Waves, indie legends We Are Scientists, NME award winner Rat Boy, and a plethora of exciting acts.
