Lord Digby Jones, former head of the CBI, a previous Minister of State for UK Trade & Investment and BBC2 Troubleshooter, will be speaking at the inaugural Business Generator event on the June 24 in Thirsk.
The organisers said that Lord Jones, who holds a number of board and advisory positions on UK and international blue chip companies, will pull no punches when he speaks candidly about business in Britain and how to drive growth from within.
Lord Jones said: “Communicate, communicate, communicate, it’s the lifeblood of business. I will expand on the importance of good communication in today’s globalised economy.”
Lord Jones will be joined by a number of business development and marketing experts, at the Thirsk Business Generator event.
There are three events being held across the county starting with Thirsk Racecourse on June 24, The Grand Hotel, Scarborough on July 1 and Cedar Court Harrogate on July 7.
The initiative, part of the Superfast North Yorkshire programme, will provide a showcase of expert speakers who support and assist companies in developing their businesses through marketing, sales and strategic business development.
Each Business Generator event will also feature a complimenting exhibition of suppliers and business support services, which includes the “Networking Board“ where new business opportunities can be developed by delegates and exhibitors posting new supplier and network requests.
The events website www.bizgenerator.co.uk contains speaker and exhibition information on each of the three events which are all free to attend. Delegate bookings can be made online.
