Lottery jackpot winners bring home the bacon

THE winners of Britain's biggest-ever lottery prize today described how they celebrated joining the ranks of the super-rich with bacon butties.

Nigel Page, 43, and his partner Justine Laycock, 41, scooped 56 million in Friday's EuroMillions Lottery draw.

Ms Laycock said: "It's so strange as I'd been out the night before with friends and I'd bought a ticket as well.

"We'd been talking about what we thought would happen if you won.

"I joked that the machine would explode, smoke would come out from it with ticker tape and glitter and six gold-painted Egyptian men would come out and carry me off. It was slightly different!"

The couple were so relaxed about their win they went for a breakfast of bacon butties at the cafe in their local Waitrose while they waited for the Camelot adviser to arrive.

The couple, who live near Cirencester, Gloucestershire, have three children between them from previous relationships. Mr Page is a self-confessed sky-diving fanatic.
