Lottery winner sits on fortune

A NATIONAL Lottery player in Leeds could be sitting on an unclaimed fortune, quite literally.

Lotto fans in the city have been urged to double check their lines or rummage down the back of sofas and chairs for any missing tickets that could see them win an unclaimed Lotto jackpot prize of 777,644.

The winning ticket for the February 6 draw was bought in the Leeds area and matched all six numbers in the Saturday draw – 3, 12, 15, 17, 22, 29 and the bonus ball of 5. The lucky ticket-holder has until 5.30pm on Thursday 5 August 2010 to stake their claim.

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest, will go to the Good Causes – adding to the 24bn already raised through sales of lottery tickets since The National Lottery launched in November 1994.

A Lottery spokesperson said: “Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa – someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune! We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”
