M1 motorway closed due to serious multi vehicle crash

The M1 is closed southbound between Junction 37 and Junction 36 near Barnsley due to the incident.

Emergency services are on the scene and traffic is now being diverted, with vehicles rejoining the carriageway at Junction 35A.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible
