Macho mail: Cold gets shorts shrift
Arctic conditions have been causing havoc across Yorkshire but for one local postman it remains "shorts weather" every morning.
David Willcox, whose round covers Barwick-in-Elmet, near Leeds, pledged to wear his shorts throughout the winter for charity after his five-year-old niece was diagnosed with diabetes last year, little realising just what the weather had in store. "I just wear a thick pair of socks to protect my feet and get on with it," he said.
