Major search operation on Yorkshire coast finds boy, 5, hiding in family tent
After 90 minutes of desperate searching, the youngster was discovered hiding in a compartment of his family tent.
Police contacted Humber Coastguard at 12.17pm reporting the boy had gone missing from the Crow’s Nest Caravan Park. between Scarborough and Filey. By this time the child had already been missing for 45 minutes.

Hide AdThe coastguard sent the Filey and Scarborough Coastguard Rescue Teams, the Filey RNLI Inshore Lifeboat and the Rescue 128 Sea King from RAF Leconfield, near Hull, to the scene.
The boy was located safe and well at 1pm in a compartment in the tent where he had been hiding.
Humber Coastguard watch manager Graham Dawson said: “Following the report of the missing child we immediately sent teams to begin the search - fearing for the worst as the camping field was so close to the cliffs.
“Luckily the child - who had in fact been hiding - was found safe and well after an hour and a half of searching by both the coastguard and the police.”
