Major work at town’s crematorium

The work at Huddersfield Crematorium will bring it into line with new environmental legislation and reduce mercury emissions.

Under the programme, the flue and fans will be stripped out and replaced.

The building will be closed for funerals between August 20 and September 5 and re-open on Thursday, September 6.

Bereavement Services will liaise with all crematoria in neighbouring authorities to ensure any funeral delays are kept to a minimum.”
