Forensic scientists carried out finger-tip searches at the scene yesterday.

A post-mortem examination was being carried out to establish the exact nature of her injuries and a cause of death but officers said it was being treated as suspicious.

Police say they would like to speak to Danish Irfan, 21, of Bradford, in connection with the incident.

Detective Superintendent Mark Ridley said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have seen Mr Irfan or who has information about his whereabouts.

“At this time it is believed that he could be anywhere in the UK and may be trying to leave the country.

“Members of the public are urged not to approach Mr Irfan but to call police immediately if they think they have seen him.”

Neighbourhood policing teams were yesterday carrying out patrols to reassure local people as inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident continued.
