The child was located safe and well on a plane about to leave England by officers from the UK Border Agency and will be reunited with his mother.

The suspect was arrested on the plane and taken back to York for questioning.

Detective Supterintendent Dai Malyn, of North Yorkshire Police, said: “[The force] is extremely grateful to our partners at the UK Border Agency and the other law enforcement agencies at the airport for their swift and effective response.”
